Course Title- Aquatic Safety Qualification Levels 1&2 (Inland Waters) - 7hr

Target Group – This programme is suitable for those that are visiting or working at the water margin but are not intending to enter the water as part of this venture. This includes teachers running field trips, DofE leaders, dock workers, national parks rangers, outdoor education providers, environmental scientists and health & safety officers.

Accreditation - This qualification if regulated and certificated by Atlantic Crest and is accredited by the Institute of Outdoor Learning (IOL).

Description - This vocational Aquatic Safety Qualification is structured to comply with the requirements of industry and support organisations to meet their statutory obligations with the following aims:

- To develop knowledge and understanding Water Safety and the risks associated with different water environments.

- To empower delegates with the confidence to assess and react to an incident within their training.

- To develop skills that are relevant to their workplace, and which can be adapted to meet different circumstances and environments.

- To encourage further study and promote the value of continuing professional development.

This occupational water safety training course will develop confidence and competence, enabling staff to make informed decisions when conducting waterside activities. The full course is divided into three different levels, each with different modules enabling a truly tailored training experience. This 1-day programme only covers Level 1 & 2 (Inland Water) and not the Level 2 Beach module or the Level 3 In-water Rescue Module.

Level 1 - Aquatic Safety Principles, the underpinning knowledge for good water safety management practices and primary emergency rescue skills. This is a 4hr module.

Level 2 - Environment Specific Module, Inland Water. building on the foundations developed in Level 1. The module focuses upon environmental knowledge, activity hazards and the use of specialist equipment. Each Level 2 module is 3hrs in length.
