No Written Assessment! This 100% practical course can be delivered in conjunction with the 16hr Level 3 Award in Forest School First Aid and the 12hr Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid course, dual certification is available.
Course Title - Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid - 16hr (OFA)
Cost - £155pp (or £25 as an additional certificate)
Description - Tailored for people venturing outside either for work or pleasure to more remote settings where help and assistance can be protracted, this course is the industry standard for outdoor professionals in the UK and is perfect for agricultural staff, rangers and wardens working in rural settings, school site staff, DofE managers & field trip leaders. Training is delivered predominantly outdoors and in a practical methodology. Different to Workplace First Aid courses, our Outdoor First Aid courses are designed to provide outdoor incident management skills and will satisfy the first aid requirements for instructors with most of the outdoor industry National Governing Bodies.
Specific content - Roles & responsibilities of an Outdoor First Aider; adult & child specific treatments; dealing with collapse (with and without breathing); CPR & AED use; drowning; choking; burns, minor & catastrophic bleeding, and shock; major illnesses; torso & limb injuries; environmental effects on health as well as heat and cold injuries; outdoor incident management; patient packaging and casualty care; stabilisation and preparation for evacuation.
RQF Regulation & Accreditation - This qualification is regulated in the UK by ITC First. ITC are an Awarding organisation regulated by OfQual and SQA Accreditation. The qualification sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). This Qualification is also accredited by the IOL (Institute for Outdoor Learning)
Additional Certification - The Assessment Pathway for this course covers the content for other qualifications, and therefore delegates can request additional certification this OFA course includes content for the following:
- Level 3 Award in Forest School First Aid (16hr)
- Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (12hr)
